History

Gauma was originally one of Kaiju Eugenicists, a group of Kaiju Users who brought prosperity to a certain country (approximately somewhere in China) through their powers to control Kaiju, labelling them as "dragon users" from neighboring countries 5000 years ago. During their time there, he fell in love with the country's princess who taught him 3 important things; promise, love, and the last thing he couldn't remember. However, the country and Kaiju Eugenicists eventually betrayed one another, much to his dismay due to his undying loyalty toward the princess leading to a brutal fallout between him and his comrades resulted in their deaths. Studies conducted on Gauma's preserved husk at Sakuragaoka museum indicated that the reason why said Chinese country betrayed Kaiju Eugenicists was because its monarchs grew fearful of their powers and therefore attempted to dispose the group starting from Gauma through poisoning his food without him knowing it, though the act provoked the aforementioned fallout as he managed to survive it somehow before his death.

The news of Gauma's death reached the princess who then placed his mummified husk together with other relics before killing herself to join her love in the afterlife. Among said relics was a dragon ornament that can transform into Dynazenon, a combining mecha that requires 4 pilots bonding to one another to operate at its fullest, having foreseen that Gauma would be temporarily return to life thanks to his former power over kaijus and therefore she wanted him to live his second life at his fullest by forming new bonds with people before their eventual reunion on the other side.

The news attracts the attention of Takeshi Todo and Khan Digifer who, upon sensing his inner rage, send Mecha Bagira to reanimate the mummy via. hacking computers hooked to his brain, causing him to wreak havoc upon the museum's visitors. Despite being the mere puppet of Mecha Bagira, bits of Gauma's sense of self surfaces upon encountering Yuka that he begins to chase her out of mistaking her as his beloved princess until she reveals the latter's fate along with the prized dragon ornament the princess entrusted to him. Eventually, Gridman defeated Mecha Bagira with use of Dragonic Cannon modeled after the dragon ornament in question, freeing Gauma from its control and rendering him lifeless once again. Nevertheless, thanks to that incident, Gauma learned that his beloved princess has passed him the dragon ornament which will aid him in the crisis ahead.
