Max (マックス, Makkusu) is the bulky member one of the Neon Genesis Junior High Students, a covert group of Hyper Agents accessed as Gridman's Assist Weapons in the SSSS.GRIDMAN series.
While posing as human, Max usually sticks arounds Yuta Hibiki as his bodyguard to Gridman's host. In emergency situations, Max accesses himself into his true form, the Battle Tracto Max Assist Weapon.
Personality
In spite of his imposing appearance, Max is gentle and considerate at heart, as he is supportive to Yuta about his feelings for Rikka.
The voice drama of Episode 5 revealed that Max has a delicate lifestyle, not wanting to bring Junk home with him because it doesn't match the color of his furniture.
Appearance
Max appears huge and bulky than his comrades and has long, somewhat curly navy hair, and blue eyes.
He wears a large black mask over his lower face that extends down into his shirt as his distinctive feature. His shirt is light brown and has the top buttons undone to fit the mask. His black jacket has gold marks on its left lapel. He has black fingerless gloves that are studded orange, and black pants and shoes.
In the GRIDMAN UNIVERSE (film), he changes to a shorter hairstyle.
Abilities
Like his fellow NGJHS members, Max displays superhuman attributes and exceptional combat abilities in regular human form.
- Dragon Tooth Spike (ドラゴントゥーススパイク, Doragon Tuusu Supaiku): Max's weapon of choice is a green spiked gauntlet that end with a spiked mace which doubles as forearm shield against oncoming attacks.
Access Mode
In times of need, Max shouts his Assist Weapon name, "Battle Tracto Max" as his morphing Access Code through the Junk. He becomes an enormous, gray and red 10WD vehicle armed with a pair of smoothbore cannons called "Tanker Cannons".
Depending on the battle situation, Max becomes a combination unit to become Powered Zenon's upper torso and arms and the large fisted, armor-like configuration for Max Gridman.

- As an Assist Weapon/Repli-compoid spawned from one of Gridman's splintered fragments, both Max and his Gridman fragment arguably represents the Hyper Agent's memory pertaining "God Tank", one of the God Zenon's docking units.
- His Assist Weapon form gives off the following controversies.
- Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad: Part of his naming is based off from Tractor, the U.S. naming equivalent for the God Tank. This includes the "Tanker Cannons", and Max Gridman's helmet which are based off from Tracto's pilot, Tanker.
- Transformers: Age of Extinction: The golden marks on his jacket reference Grimlock's armor.
- The Brave Exkaiser: Max himself is named after the Max Team while his combination with Gridman parodies a bit of Exkaiser's combination gimmicks which parodies the Matryoshka sequence from Gordian Fighter.
